TERMINATIONS/VALID STATE CERTIFICATE
If you received a letter stating that you will be terminated because you do not have a valid state certificate, call Elizabeth Perez at the Brooklyn UFT office IMMEDIATELY at (718) 852-4900. Otherwise, you will not be on this fall’s organization sheet in any way, shape or form.
OPEN MARKET TRANSFERS
If you want to switch schools, the Open Market Transfer Plan period has begun. ANY pedagogue may transfer to another DOE school without the principal’s release through August 7. After that, you may only transfer if she releases you. For more information, visit:
http://www.uft.org/news/teacher/qa/open_mkt_plan/
To apply, go to:
https://www.nycenet.edu/offices/dhr/transferplane/
SUMMER POSITIONS
Summer applications are due on May 18. Print out everything. Don’t forget to claim retention rights if you are eligible. Be sure to give your correct email address, as you will not get a position if it is mistyped. That is because they cannot contact you.

EXCESSING LIST
The DOE still will not release the current excessing list. I have posted a copy of last year’s teacher excessing list in room 251. I crossed out your file numbers to ensure privacy. Just add a year to your total.
PARKING
A couple of passes are missing. If not returned, they will be reported as missing, and you will be ticketed for using them.
PHONE CALLS TO PROTECT STUDENTS
On Tuesday, May 4 during your lunch period, please take a minute to call Bushwick’s state representatives to do the right thing and protect our students (and jobs).
The calls will only be a minute. Just say:
“I’m (name) from P.S. 123 in District 32, Bushwick. I am calling to tell (representative) to protect our children and not cut the education budget.”
Call either (or both)
Sen. Martin Malavé Dilan (518) 455-2177
Assemblyman Darryl C. Towns 518-455-5821
If you are unable to do this during lunch, please do so after 3:00.
SEND A FAX
Send a fax to your own local representatives to oppose cuts to the state education budget. Go to UFT.org and click on the action alert on the right side of the page, or go to:
